What do you want to change?  Is there an aspect of your life you are dissatisfied with? Are there some things you think you could improve with the right help or skills, such as relationships, confidence, self-esteem? Do you have unhelpful behaviours or patterns that you keep repeating?  Or do you wish to improve on your current performance, in your work or at play?

I am Amanda Hart, a psychotherapist, counsellor, clinical hypnotherapist and behaviour coach, based in South Buckinghamshire, but working with clients in many locations online. I work with individual adults, young adults couples and families.  I also offer services to companies and organisations throughout the UK

I offer confidential, caring and professional support to my clients so that they can manage and cope with all sorts of issues encountered in their everyday lives. I help clients to make the most of their strengths and resources in order to overcome difficulties they may be going through, or simply to help them be themselves….but even better.

Online working: At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 I moved my practice online, allowing me to continue working with my clients. This was a successful transition and I was able to maintain a busy practice working this way.  I have made the decision to continue working online only, as feedback from my clients is that they like this way of accessing therapy and find it very convenient.  I recognise that some people will still prefer face to face therapy sessions.  However, certainly for the foreseeable future, I will continue to offer online appointments only.  Should this policy change, I will update my information accordingly.

Availability: I currently have quite limited availability due to high levels of demand at this time, so please contact me to check my availability.  I sometimes operate a waiting list for new or returning clients if I am unable to offer an appointment straight away.  However, at very busy times it is sometimes necessary to close my waiting list.

I am able to help with many types of emotional or psychological issues or mental health problems, however I specialise in working with eating disorders and body image issues and relationship and parenting therapy.

Typical problems that I help clients with include:

  • Anxiety, stress and panic
  • Depression and low mood
  • Weight, eating and body image issues (including eating disorders)
  • Relationship and communication issues, including parenting and co-parenting concerns
  • Problem habits
  • Obsessive or compulsive thoughts or behaviours
  • Fears and phobias
  • Living with mental health problems
  • Self-esteem and confidence
  • Trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Performance improvement (sports, business, social etc.)
  • Motivation

Services to businesses:  I also work with corporate clients to help them to address interpersonal or staff issues, communications or to resolve conflict.  I am trained to work with groups or teams and can often help companies to avoid problems escalating into difficult and costly grievance or legal procedures.  More information here.
